The opportunity
Chronicle is supporting a leading port and terminal operator in Qatar on the appointment of a Commercial Manager. This is a senior commercial mandate focused on revenue growth, shipping-line and shipowner relationships, tendering, customer experience and the connection between commercial strategy and operational delivery.
What you will lead
- Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with long-term growth targets.
- Build and manage relationships with shipping lines, shipowners, cargo owners and key port users.
- Identify new business opportunities and strengthen service propositions.
- Lead tender coordination, commercial submissions and pricing discussions.
- Oversee customer satisfaction, service-delivery performance, complaints and claims.
- Work closely with Operations, Planning, Finance and senior leadership to improve customer outcomes.
What we are looking for
- Significant commercial planning or business-development experience within ports, terminals, shipping or maritime services.
- Strong understanding of port-commercial economics, customer relationships and tendering.
- Leadership experience with the ability to translate relationships into measurable revenue growth.
- Qatar or GCC market exposure is highly valuable.
